ABout Ms. Piascik . . .
Hi! This will be my twentieth year teaching fifth grade in Warwick, NY. I moved to the middle school six years ago. Before that, I taught fifth grade at Sanfordville Elementary. I am lucky enough to teach my favorite subjects: reading, writing and social studies. Hopefully, I will also teach you to be a great critical thinker - that's a true life long skill.
Here are some other things about me:
*** I live in Warwick, so you might see me around town!
*** The apple of my eye are my two dogs, Lucas and Duke. Lucas is a shepherd mix that I adopted from a rescue back in March 2017. In November, he will be four years old. Lucas is the fastest dog I have ever owned. He can zip around like a comet. To keep him company, I also added another rescue puppy to my house ... Duke! He is a super friendly and happy three year old Lab mix. Duke loves to eat ... like ... really!
*** I enjoy nature - especially all the animals and beauty of diversity in the world. Birds always catch my eye! It's so cool how they can fly around so freely!
*** If I wasn't a teacher, I would've loved to have been a pastry chef. Baking is a big part of my life and I enjoy creating awesome treats.
*** I can speak Polish fluently. It was my first language. Tak, to prawde! I studied French, and I am also now learning Spanish and Italian.
*** I also possess a music teaching degree. Currently, I do still give some piano lessons. My music tastes have a huge range of genres.
*** Unicorns are my mascot ... you will see them in the classroom represented by cool things.
*** Bitmojis are awesome! I can have an entire conversation just using them.
***Travel is something I love to do! I even visited Macchu Picchu. It was a wonderful experience and I will share my experience as we study the Incan civilization this year.
*** Other favorite places for me are, Montana - my favorite place (touring Yellowstone National Park was a break taking experience) and Poland, where I have family.
I am excited to get to know all about you! :-)
